Scar revision at SELF_

At SELF_ the treatment of scarring is multifaceted

The beautiful clients that we treat for scarring are looking for pretty quick results and understandably.  Here we outline our process to treat scarring

As soon as a client presents to us with scarring the first step, even while the skin is still a wound is LED Light therapy.  LED light starts the healing process in the least invasive way possible.  LED light stimulates ATP in the body, the energy to our cells.  It speeds up the recovery of any skin trauma.

The next step is always enzyme therapy.  Scar tissue is different so we have to use enzyme therapy to remodel a different tissue. This makes collagen induction therapy more effective. Enzyme’s also increase the quality of the cellular Matrix and create a better environment within the skin to induce healing and repair'

Effective scar revision requires the following

-       A healthy cell and cellular matrix

-       Good circulation and lymphatic flow

-       Healthy fibroblast cells (where collagen and elastin are made)

-       A strong immune response

-       Good cellular nutrients including essential fatty acids and amino acids.  These nutrients need to have transdermal delivery

To ensure that we deliver all of these and more our choice for scar revision includes LED light therapy, enzyme therapy, alternated with collagen induction therapy.  You can start to see results from the first treatment.

Topically - Beta gel for the skins immune response is our go to, other than that your usual DMK skin care regime can generally remain the same.

Internally – Essential fatty acids are just that for scar revision – essential.  They do the work from the inside out to assist the cellular repair and regeneration of skin.

Please book an in depth skin consultation if you’d like more information on scar revision with us, we would love to help
